Become a Disney Travel Agent
Are you the go-to Disney expert? The person everyone comes to when they’re planning their next Disney vacation? Or have you just dreamed of booking travel for others because you love it yourself? Whatever the reason may be for you, we’re happy to tell you that you can become a Disney Travel Agent , you can do it from home or wherever you live and you can earn commission doing it. Here’s what you need to know.
Travel Agent to Travel Professional
Although the word “travel agent” has been around for years and years, we prefer to call them Travel Professionals now. This is because the term “travel agent” sounds old-fashioned; like a visit to a brick and mortar store where someone books your travel, prints your plane tickets and charges you a fee for their services. While that may have been, it’s far from how things work now-a-days.
Travel Professionals can work from anywhere, book for their clients from a computer or mobile device, email or text travel documents and do not have to charge a fee for their services. Travel Professionals are a modern concierge. Their services and knowledge make them priceless when it comes to planning and booking vacations.
What does a Disney Travel Agent do?
Travel Professionals who book Disney vacations help clients shop for the right vacations starting with the destination and then move into where they would like to stay, for how long, activities they’d like to do, how they want to get there and the things they will need to have a successful trip.
Choosing a Disney Destination usually comes from the client but not always. Some have dreamed of going to Walt Disney World Resort and are ready to make that happen and some have been visiting Disneyland Resort every year for a sisters reunion. Some clients may want to visit Aulani for a beach vacation and some may want to do a Disney Cruise with their kids. Whatever the reason is, most clients know where they want to visit. Now they need help planning the details.
The Travel Professional will want to ask the client questions to help them get a better understanding about why they are wanting to vacation and what they expect to get done while they are there. This will help them determine the correct amount of time they will need to accomplish all of it.
If your clients are first-timers, they will need suggestions on where to stay whether that’s a resort hotel, an ocean facing suite, or a ocean view balcony cabin. Remember it’s not just about where they’re staying, it’s also about their location, the room or cabin set-up, what they can see and what they can do.
Now you’ll want to find out all the thing they want to get do like how many days they want to spend in the parks or activities they may want to do off the resort or special excursions off the ship. Some of these things may need to be booked in advance, some may be better booked on the spot. The Travel Professional will help advise them on this.
